CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union has been made aware that some members of this Credit Union, as well as other financial institutions, are receiving text messages to their cell phones indicating that their ATM/Check Card has been suspended. The message directs the member to a toll-free number.

This message was not sent by CommonWealth One and is a (cell phone text message) scam. You should treat this message as a threat the same as you would a similar message from any other source — never call the toll-free number, respond to an e-mail or give out any private information to an unsolicited call, e-mail or text message. Instead, call the number listed on the back of your card.
