How to Join - a simple 3 step process

1. Check if you qualify
You are immediately eligible to join if you qualify for membership in one of three ways:

A) If you are an employee with one of our sponsor groups. Click here for a listing of sponsor groups.

OR

B) If you belong to a community/area that we serve. We currently serve anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school, or volunteers in the following areas:  City of Harrisonburg, VA; Warren County VA;  Clarke County VA; and certain areas of the city of Alexandria, VA and Washington, D.C.

OR

C) If you are a family member of any of the above. Family members are defined as spouses, children, siblings, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, and those persons living in the same household and maintaining a single economic unit. Please be sure to indicate family member eligibility on your application.


2. Establish membership with $5 share account
Please review our Membership Booklet and print a copy for your records. Print the Account Card, complete it, and have your signature notarized (required if opened through the mail).  If you wish to mail your application (see address below),  please include your $5.00 deposit to establish membership.

You may also open your account at any CommonWealth One branch.

3. Activate membership, open other accounts
Once your savings account has been established, you can visit any branch to open additional services or call us at (703) 823-5211 or (800) 424-3334. Use our 24/7online loan application to apply for a loan or a credit card.
