Relief Assistance Programs

We are here to help.  If you or your family have been impacted by COVID-19, and need financial support, we are ready to provide assistance and discuss solutions that may be available to you during this unprecedented pandemic crisis.  We offer a variety of programs and resources like those noted below. Should you need assistance, please contact our member service representatives.  You can schedule an appointment for a call back, send a secure message through online banking, or email cofcu@cofcu.org.

COVID-19 Emergency Loan - We've created a special personal loan where you can borrow up to $5,000 with a fixed rate of 7.01% APR and terms up to 36 months. 

Skip-A-Payment Program - We’re waiving the application fee on our Skip-a-Payment program and extended the offer to include ONELine, our home equity loans and credit cards, in addition to our vehicle and personal loans. 

Certificate Withdrawal - We're waiving the "Early Withdrawal Penalty Fee", if you need to request a withdrawal from your CommonWealth One Share Certificate(s).

VISA Credit Card Assistance Programs - For an emergency credit card limit increase or skip-payment options, call 1-866-820-5871 to request "Emergency Assistant Services."

Mortgage Assistance Programs - Your CommonWealth One mortgage servicer, Midwest Loan Services, can assist you with mortgage payment relief.  For assistance, please visit their website here.

Student Loan Assistance - Through our partnership with LendKey Private Student Loan Services, we have special programs to assist borrowers with student loans experiencing hardship. Call 888-549-9050 to discuss available solutions.


Branch Operations

On Friday, May 29, Virginia Governor Northam signed an Executive Order making it a requirement to wear a face covering while inside buildings.  If you do not have a mask or face covering, you will not be allowed to enter our branch or administrative offices.   

Effective Thursday, June 4

Our Main Branch will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Member service representatives will be onsite to assist members by appointment only. The lobby will be open for teller transactions only. The number of members allowed in the branch at any given time will be limited to five. We ask all members to observe and respect the social distancing measures while in the branch. Any individual entering the branch must wear a mask or face covering.

 

You can make an appointment with a member service representative at our Main Branch at cofcu.org/main-appointment.  Please plan to arrive at your appointment time, as in-office waiting areas will not be available. 
 

Our Harrisonburg Branch lobby will be open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for member service assistance by appointment only. No teller transactions will be performed in the branch. However, the Drive-Up will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday for teller transactions. Any member meeting with a member service representative must wear a mask or face covering.

Our Richmond Highway Branch will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.   Any individual entering the branch must wear a mask or face covering.

 

Current Operations
All Credit Union Branches will be closed on Saturdays until further notice. However, the Member Contact Center will operate on normal business hours (9:00 am – 1:00 pm) to assist you.

GAO, HEC, JMU & T.C. Williams Branches are closed until further notice.

Main and Richmond Highway Branches will be open, but are limited to teller transactions only.  A mask or face covering is required to enter the branch.  In addition, the number of members allowed in the Main or Richmond Highway branches at any given time will be limited to five.   

Harrisonburg Regional Branch is open for drive-up transactions only.

Remote Access

We encourage you to use our digital banking services, which allow you to view and perform transactions on your account quickly and easily, 24/7. To enroll in online or mobile banking click here.

You can deposit checks through our mobile app. Click here to download the app. Note in order to use the app, you must enroll in online banking.

Use PhoneOne touch-tone telephone banking to check the balance on your accounts, transfer funds or make a loan payment.

Scammers are notorious for capitalizing on fear, and the coronavirus is no exception.  Please remember, CommonWealth One will not ask you for confidential information such as your name, account number, social security number, or other personal identifying information in an email.
